Willi is made by one person, so your message reaches an actual human — the author. Write about anything: something broken, something confusing, a reply from Willi that landed badly, or a thought about the book. Expect an answer within a few days.
Reporting something Willi said
Willi's replies are generated by an AI model, which means it can occasionally say something wrong, clumsy, or upsetting. If that happens, please tell us — it is the most useful message you can send.
In the iPhone app, press and hold any reply from Willi and choose Report this reply. You'll see exactly what is about to be sent before you send it, and your own preceding message is included only if you choose to add it.
On the web, or if you'd rather write, email halrosen613@gmail.com with the subject "Reporting a Willi reply" and paste in what Willi said, plus roughly what you had asked. Reports are read personally and used to correct how Willi responds. Share only as much of your own writing as you are comfortable sharing — we cannot see your conversations, so nothing reaches us unless you include it.
Common questions
Willi is slow to reply, or seems stuck
The first message after a quiet stretch can take up to a minute, because the service goes to sleep when nobody is using it and has to wake up. After that, replies come quickly. If it fails outright, check your connection and try once more.
Where is my writing stored? Is it backed up?
Your journal, gratitude lists, reframes, and practice history are stored on your own device, not on our server — see the privacy policy. That is good for your privacy and important to understand for one reason: if you delete the app, that writing goes with it, and we have no copy to restore. On iPhone, an iCloud backup of your phone includes it. Export anything you would be sad to lose before deleting or switching devices.
Does my writing on the phone show up on the website?
No. The app and the website each keep their own writing on their own device. They do not sync, because syncing would mean uploading your journal to a server, which Willi deliberately does not do.
Can Willi read my journal?
No. Willi only sees what you type into a conversation with Willi. Your journal and gratitude entries are never attached to those messages.
One honest footnote: if you use the microphone to speak an entry instead of typing it, that recording is sent out to be turned into text before it lands in the box. The saved entry still stays on your device. If you would rather nothing at all left your phone, type it.
How do I delete everything?
Delete the app from your iPhone, or clear this site's browsing data in your browser. Because it was only ever stored on your device, that removes all of it. To leave the reader email list, use the unsubscribe link in any email or write to us.
The voice or microphone is not working
Check that Willi has microphone permission in your device settings, and on the web that your browser has not blocked microphone access for this site. Spoken replies also need a working connection, since the voice is generated on the server.
My streak reset and I did practice that day
Streaks turn over at midnight in your device's local time zone. Traveling across time zones, or changing your device clock, can shift the boundary. Write to us if the count still looks wrong and we will look into it.
Privacy
The full privacy policy explains exactly what leaves your device and what does not. The short version: your writing stays with you.
